With reference to my despatch No. 27

of the 3rd March concerning british subjects

of Chinese descent, you will recollect that at

your interview with Marshal Li Chai-sum on the

27th February, the Marshal and the Commissioner

for Foreign Affairs promised that immediato

provision would be made for the issue of remun-
